Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
  • Can the bag or pad be in contact with skin?
Although isn’t meant to go directly on the skin, the bag is made of polyethylene and the pad does not contain any irritating or dangerous substance.

  • Does the pad only absorb urine?
No. It absorbs all liquids such as blood and plasma. It can absorb 1 liter of water, about 500 ml of urine.

  • How can I manage if I need to make a 24 hour urine collection for analysis?
Then you have to put the pad in Care Bag after taking the samples for analysis.

  • How can I put Care Bag under a heavy patient?
You have to hold Care Bag tightly around the bedpad by its sliding ties.

  • I do not want to change the habits of my staff and to have the obligation to recuperate the Care Bag immediately after use.
You don’t need to do so. The super absorbent pad of the Care Bag contains an anti-odour system that stops the diffusion of bad smells during many hours when the bag is properly closed. As such, you can leave a bag full of waste in the patient’s room for several hours with out it causing any nuisance.

  • I don’t need Care Bag, I just purchased a bedpan-washer.
With Care Bag, you avoid all problems related to the clogging of bedpan-washers. Furthermore, many publications showed that no bedpan-washer is 100% efficient to decontaminate bedpans, and the efficiency is further reduced in the case of soiled bedpans.

  • I don’t need Care Bag, I rarely use a bedpan.
Care Bag is absolutely recommended because even for occasional use, the bags can be of great service to you.

  • I like Care Bag, but can’t I use a regular garbage bag in the bedpan?
Care Bag was especially designed to be adjusted to all bedpans; its double soldered joint avoids all risk of liquid spilling over. The super absorbent pad avoids the transportation of liquid – no risk of splashing, soiling, germs scattering.

  • In which hospital departments can Care Bag be used?
All services using bedpans, but primarily: isolation services, haematology, imagery, dialysis, transfusion, cancer treatment centres.
